Image vectorizer

This page is preset to a 32-color palette with the Detailed setting, the closest match this tracer makes to the source image. It suits illustrations, posters, and artwork with many shades where fidelity matters more than file size. If the SVG comes out larger than you need, lower the color count or switch to Balanced.

Tracing runs in a Web Worker on your own device using the Canvas API and a self-hosted tracer. Very large images are traced at a reduced working resolution, since a vector does not need every pixel, and the SVG keeps the original dimensions. Your image is never uploaded, and the output is plain SVG you can download or copy as code. No signup, no tracking.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the SVG bigger than my PNG?

A detailed trace of a busy image can produce thousands of paths, and each one is stored as text. That is normal for vectorized artwork. Reduce the color count, choose Smooth, or crop to the part you need to bring the size down.

Can I change the settings?

Yes. The preset only picks the starting mode, palette size, and detail. Change any option and the image is retraced in place, with the side-by-side preview updating each time.
