How it works
This free image cropper uses your browser's built-in Canvas API to process images entirely on your device. Select an image by dragging it in, pasting from your clipboard, or picking a file. Choose a preset aspect ratio like 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9, or use freeform mode to crop to any shape. Drag and resize the crop region directly on the preview, then export as PNG, WebP, JPEG, or TIFF.
Your images are never sent to a server. The cropping, format conversion, and file export all happen locally, which makes the tool fast and private. No cost, no limits. It works on any modern browser, on both mobile and desktop.

Frequently asked questions
Does cropping lower the resolution of my image?
No. The preview is scaled down to fit your screen, but the crop is applied to the full source pixels, so a crop that keeps 60 percent of a 4000 pixel wide photo still exports at that original pixel density. Only the area you cut away is removed.
Why is the exported file size shown with a "~"?
The cropped size is an estimate, scaled from the original file by how much of the image area you kept. The real size depends on the export format and quality you pick, so a PNG or a re-encoded JPEG can land above or below the estimate.
What happens to a transparent PNG if I export as JPEG?
JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with solid white before export to avoid a black background. To preserve transparency, export as PNG, WebP, or TIFF instead.
Does the quality setting affect every format?
The Good, Better, and Best settings only change JPEG and WebP output, which are lossy. PNG and TIFF are lossless here, so the quality choice has no effect on those files.
